No Fuzzy Faces!

Just been browsing through "People of Pern" again, the great portraits by Robin Wood, and it got me to thinking . . .

Has the Pernese genome mutiated sufficiently to eliminate male facilal hair, or do they just have VERY SHARP razors?

I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that Anne McCaffrey has said that Pernese men have very little facial hair. A web search only revealed a few vague references though, so I think the bearded characters in Triad are safe. :-)

You missed one fuzzy face, George: the Harper Hallmaster, Gilas, has a large moustache that he's very proud of. ;)

Can't think of any other men with facial hair, though. Gilas might be alone in his fuzziness...

K'sedel, DEW Weyrleader was bearded until the start of the pass, he only took up shaving to set an example to his riders.

Rorin has a goatee.

One of my 'sona's just started to  grow one.  It will stay until his wife makes him get rid of it! ;)
