Star Trek-moment (Note: spoilers for Discovery season 2)


We were watching the first episode of season two of star trek Discovery. The landing pod-scene starts.


Me: "I'll bet my money that Conelly-guy is a redshirt."
hubby: "What's a redshirt?"
Me: "Well, it dates back to the Original Trek where this guys in redshirts were always the ones to get k..."

KA-BOOM

Me: "Yep, that's redshirt. The guy who's there just to die."

(all dialog freely translated from finnish.)

I do the exact same thing whenever I see N'vanik on TV

I wore a red T-Shirt with a Star Trek Symbol on the front as my Halloween costume one year. On the back it said "On No!"

No one said anything until late in the day when I walked past the Facilities Director and he busted up laughing.  I just grinned at him and paused to peek around the corner for anyone with a phaser. He couldn't stop laughing.
