Hi there and welcome to Triad! I'm Leigh M-F, or just Leigh, hailing from a small city in Colorado. I've been a McCaffrey fan since grade or middle school, and I've been a happy member here for about four years, I think.

I really hope you enjoy your stay, and that the stay is a long one. Looking forward to what kind of characters you come up with. :-)

They're reviewing the character, but I think the concept is in a weird gray area that wasn't discussed in later books. There's some discussion of it early in the books, and a brief nod to it in Dolphins, but otherwise I don't know if it's really discussed in the books. I honestly didn't realize it until I submitted it how much information is actually lacking on the concept in the books, both earlier and later.
