*Lifts Hand*

I have been since I was young. My kids all had their own knitted ponchos/sweaters/blankets. And then computers came along and seemed like my free time kind of got sucked up in things like World of Warcrack. BUT, I've now rediscovered my love for the art when I inherited a significant stash from my mom when she passed.

All this lovely yarn just calling to me from various places.  Right now I have an afgan, a sweater, and a scottish tam under construction.

I've just finished my first pair of socks!!

*lifts a hand* I discovered knitting on adult age, I hated handcrafts when I was a kid. Back at the school when we had to knit socks, mom had to do the heel for me. Now.. Internet is such good source for instructions.

Socks I knit for my father for a birthday present, knee lenght.

Me! My Grandmother taught me as a child, but I didn't have the patience for it then.

Various people have had scarves and hats, and this is my pride and joy

And this is my next project.  http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwbis11/PATTvelvet.php

I have a second pair of socks just finished last night. I need to sew the toe and that is all.  I'll put up the pick soon as they're done.

Sweeet! I've added you. I'm Cardinea on Ravelry. And that is a really beautiful cardi!! It looks amazing. I have never knitted a full thing (I am slow and easily distracted) but maybe I will later!!

This is my WIP: http://www.bromefields.com/product/leadership-womens-cowl-knitting-pattern/

It's basically a giant soft tube of awesome yarn. I love it already.

'dem socks look amazing, Suzee!

I've always wanted to learn, I've just never had a teacher. Which is no excuse, I'm sure I could find a tutorial on youtube :P

Heather,  socks are all about the yarn and turning the heel. Once you have those things down and knitting with a set of double pointed needles it's not so difficult.

This pattern was the one that finally got me through the first pair: http://sandbdistribution.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/MW_BasicDressSocks.pdf

Getting the heel was the hardest for me but once you have it down (just follow the pattern exactly even if you don't understand.) You'll get what it's doing.
