Taking your votes!

This afternoon I sent out a post called "Chomp" (and made myself late to work yet again doing so), in which Aluka's sperm donor Eionn found out he does indeed have a child out there, and now wants to find him.

So for the sake of your entertainment (and because I honestly have no idea), I'd like your votes on whether or not Eionn should find Aluka, when it should happen if he does, and how much pain Aluka should inflict on him. I'd also like your opinions on how Aluka might react if it happens. I can sort of guess, since he's my character, but I honestly didn't think about it until today.

So, yeah. That's what's on my mind now in my continued gaming quest as a member of Triad.

honestly i dont think he should. or maybe he tries to find him but he dies before he gets there...hrm. cause really aluka doesnt need him in his life. hes a write off deffo. if he did though....yeah itd be bad and prolly shortlived

Hmm... when I get stuck, my question is always 'why?' So... why would Eionn try to find Aluka? What's in it for him, and what does he expect might happen if he and Aluka meet, especially since he apparently never thought of Aluka's ma at all? Also, how would he find Aluka? Seems like nobody from his home knows where he is. It might take some time. My selfish reason for this is that I'd love to know what exactly happened to Aluka when he left his cothold! Eionn could follow his trail.

Personally, I love to torture characters. *eg* An idea might be to have them meet, but Eionn not tell Aluka who he is. Another might be to have Eionn find him and just write, send him a gitar or something, and leave it to Aluka to approach him - or not - as he sees fit... aka 'Aluka Stews A Lot'. Maybe Eionn tries approaching Aluka with his arms outstretched, and Aluka causes an incident much like J'ackt did with Emerald Falls Hold when he and that guard got into a fight. Maybe like Chelle suggested, Eionn dies on the road and Aluka gets his things as an inheritance! (aka 'Aluka Gets Conflicted Feelings') Just some thoughts!

Yvonne asks the best questions! I think she has a point about "why is Eionn invested now?" when he hadn't thought about it in Turns? What is HE expecting? We're naturally inclined to side with Aluka's anger and rage since we know him better. So why should we want anything other than Eionn being beaten to a pulp when he finds Aluka? (Other then "that could get Aluka in so much trouble".)

One more point of view. I've don't a lot of thinking and guessing at Bryvin's feelings for Elarie. She's dead of course and he doesn't know about the child she carried... yet. But when he does find out it will break him.

What I see in Eionn is a person who never meant the consequences Shastia and Aluka faced because of him. That doesn't excuse him though and if he were the good man that appears to be truly sorry for what he did (he did ask her to come with him so he must have had some true feelings for her.) He might actually have a very good reason to apologize to Aluka.

Part of this is formed by my own life experience, I know. I haven't shared this with everyone here but my first husband left for another woman when I was a few months pregnant with my oldest son. Skipping over all the bad stuff, like he was never involved in Rob's life other than as an occasional visitor. My son is a mirror reflection of his father, humor, body smile, sense of humor, dancing, singing. You know that Rob is Dave's son when he walks into a room. (except for the red hair.) Yet he never lived with or spent more than one or two nights with him in his whole life.

The interesting thing here... just to relay it to you in the best way possible. Rob doesn't hate him. (I can see Aluka feeling different here.) He just doesn't care at all and never responds to any overture at any kind of relationship.  That seems more distressing to Dave and his wife than if he was angry.  You know what they say, the opposite of love is not hate, it's apathy.

There are so many different ways you can go with this Leigh. I see the father's side and I see Aluka's side. But I also see Dave's pain when Rob just walks away engrossed in his own life in which his father is not included... at all.  What a price to pay.

Dad tracks son down eventually, which I think could make a great series of posts. He starts to feel some sort of connection to his son, looks forward to meeting him. He finally does and Aluka says 'And? So what?' Totally bubble-bursting moment.

Eionn is left standing going 'what the firestone?'
