I'm sure I'm overlooking this information, but I promise I've looked, lol!

Is there a schedule that shows the Pern Weather Months in relation to Real Life Months? Like for instance, when does M8 start in Real Life? Is there a set time or is each month determined differently?

Thanks!

Suzee

Is this what you were looking for?

There is also this for Dolphin Cove though I haven't seen one for Dragonsfall which is much further south and in mountains.

For Dragonsfall, you just have to check the calendar for the weather.

The seasons are same though, and we are in middle of winter. For month 7 there seems to be three blizzard-days. For RP: on those days all dragons would be grounded for safety's sake. The cold, strong wind and snow blowing vertically would made it hard for dragon to see not to mention fly! (Airplanes can be in trouble during blizzards). Those days are good for snuggling in your weyr or maybe catch up with the friends in Dining Cavern.

No, I know what the current month is, lol, I want to know when it will end and the new month begins.

For example some clubs do:

January 1st-February 1st = Month 1
February 1st-March 1st= Month 2

So, how do I know when month 7 ends and month 8 begins in Real Life. Do I have to keep checking the calendar every day until it changes to m8 or is there a way for me to know in advance?

Ames

I really think the link that Suzee sent you answers your question.
For instance, here are three months around where we are now:

March 2012: Month 6 & Month 7
April 2012: Month 7
May 2012: Month 7 & Month 8

So in March we were finishing up month 6 but month 7 posts could be written. April is ONLY month 7 and May lets us finish month 7 but also open up month 8. If this is not what you are looking for than I'm pretty confused as to what you are looking for.

Hope this helps

Suzee

Ok, maybe your confusion lies in the fact that our months overlap. I kind of tend to think of it as when I can START writing in a month and when I have to END.

So writing for m6 was over at the end of March but we could being writing m7 at the beginning of March so during that month we were writing both.

Now the Calandar on the website changes when you are FIRST able to write for that month. But the cool thing there is of you're looking at one of your persona and want to see what you wrote in m3 you can switch the Calandar between Earth and Pern months with the button at the top of the calendar. It helps you hunt for things you may have written in December if you don't remember what Pern month it was.

For the weather, our Weyrs are on the southern continent so seasons are reversed from what we would see in the northern hemisphere like Europe or North America. m6 is Winter.

Have I made it as clear as mud?

Perfect! Thank you :) Answers it totally!
