Kayte

Hello, My name is Kayte, I'm 21 years old, married to a USMC S.Sgt. and we have a beautiful 3 1/2 month old daughter. I work at a group free-play dog boarding and daycare kennel - which involves lots of interaction with dogs of all sizes.

I'm also an artist and will one day complete my Bachelor's in Illustration with a minor in Art History. I love to write as well and in past years have been involved in Pern RPGs. When my husband went overseas to Iraq my life became much more hectic and in the least stressful and I ended up holding off on my writing.

But, my husband is home and with a steady job again and family around I've found myself with much more time on my hands and I'm hoping Triads will fill that time.

I'm currently working on figuring out what type of character I want to create for my first. I really want a Hold persona - job and such, I'm not sure. If anyone has a storyline idea and wants to do something long term I'm very interested. I'd much prefer that. :D

Anyways... I'm here, and am looking forward to sticking around.

Welcome to the club, Kayte.  I'll see what we can think up.  The limitation with Hold characters is the defined role for women, but I'm sure you'll find the right idea for your character soon.

Grab me on IM any time.

I've been thinking and I might look into the open Weyrlingmaster Third position at RBW. Something very open to constant posts and with something to always write about the day he/she is approved.

That way I can work on my hold resident ideas and come up with something really interesting while having a character started and capable of bringing to life quickly.

Any objections?

Hi Kayte!

Welcome to Triad!!!  You'll be assigned a mentor soon for help with questions if you haven't been already :)  Congratulations on having hubby back home safe! And with a new baby too!

Its crazyness here, so if you like being insane, join right in! LOL I love your enthusiasm!

As far as the Weyrlingmaster Third position, new members can have ranking personas, but they have to have approval of the Council, the local L1, and also submit a completely error free sheet the first time around.    Here is the FAQ on that!

You might want to try a non ranking persona (adoptables are a great way to get going!) just until you get comfortable with Triad!!!

Welcome again, we're glad to have you :)

Hey Kayte, you said you played in pern fandom before?  Which ones?  I wonder if we've crossed each others paths in the past! :)

Eimi

Hey Kayte!  Welcome!

Yeah, I would definitely recommend that you try a non-ranking persona before jumping into a rankers spot.  Of course, you could always make a green or bluerider in RBW who gets promoted the position once you've gotten your feet wet!  That's always a possibility!

Otherwise, if you want a Holder, there are TONS of positions that could be filled, from crafter to stable worker, formen, drudge, gardener... you name it!  Let me know if you have any questions about persona forms or anything :)

Anyone who can only think of only one way to spell a word obviously lacks imagination.

Welcome, Kayte!

While you're trying to figure it all out, you could help out by writing an NPC in a post with an existing member. That would help you to get a feel for the club or any of the locations we have.

One of these days, I wanna try and replicate the quilts that Eliste gave various people.

Now that ought to be interesting.  Gotta learn how to make French knots...
