One of those mornings...

I had a very peevish hubby this morning....car didn't start. Well, it did start eventually, but not before everyone's morning was ruined. My son had to leave to school before Digimon ended, daughter went to kindergarden later than usual, but I got a ride to the train station. And of course the train was late!  He was so angry that I'm not surprised if he goes to the car-shop and changes the car to new one. (He changes cars more often than I change my mobile phone.) And it's not even an old car, just about two-three years old!

Can it be fixed?

Sorry you had such a rough morning. :(

I've been working about 20 miles from home and instead of dealing with the congestion of traffic and the high gas prices, I've been using mass transit -- buses and high-speed rail, depending on time of day.

Today I rode a Metro Express Bus to and from work (when I close the center it's usually too late to do this and I use Metro Rail instead). I left work relatively early (about 5:30), waited for the bus, dozed on the way home, and three blocks from my stop was engulfed in a "traffic altercation" (this was the policeman's description of it). The bus had pulled to the side of the road to let a passenger off, tried to merge back into traffic and was cut-off by another driver who wanted to go right into our lane. The other driver -- in a tow truck -- decided not to let us get over. The bus driver stopped, and the tow truck driver pulled forward, blocking us from going anywhere, clipping the bus's mirror in the process. Then the passenger in the tow truck proceeded to curse out the driver of the bus -- including some racial slurs -- while the bus driver remained in place quietly. The police arrived, listened to the story, but since there was no damage, they let the other driver leave. On the other hand, the bus driver had to report to and wait for his supervisor before moving on. A few of us waited with him, to vouch for his lack of wrong-doing. In the meantime I also called the towing company and complained -- as did a few others after me (using my wording in many cases).

And so, I stopped at Wendy's and bought myself a huge bacon cheeseburger and a milkshake. I think I deserve it.

Not really -- it was just me. I didn't have to deal with two kids during my ordeal.
Hopefully today will go more smoothly, though tomorrow I have several coworkers on holiday and will be working from open to close -- plus commute.
