Just approved at DCW

Hi, I'm Michelle (also known as Kastaka for ease of not clashing with other people's names online) and I've just had my first persona, a female junior apprentice dragonhealer at DCW called Vasha, approved

.

In real life I'm a software tester living in Cambridge, UK. I used to be quite involved in Pern fandom when I was at secondary school (particularly in Ridges of Pern but also a couple of other places I can't remember the names of any more), but I lost touch when I went to university and got overwhelmed by actually finding people in person who I could geek at...

Anyway, this now looks like a fairly standard introduction post, so I'll leave it that for now.

Welcome Kastaka! I look forward to posting with you

Welcome Kastaka!

I also was in Ridges of Pern for a bit, when I was in middle school. I think there's some sort of connection between Triad and Ridges, but I'll leave it to someone who actually knows something about it to tell you what it is.

I hope we can copost in the future!

Hello Kastaka! Any significance to the name, or is it just a random one? I rather like it - it flows off the tongue nicely (if I'm pronouncing it right).

Welcome to Triad! I have a very underused bluerider at DCW if you find yourself floundering.

It's just a random one - I picked it when I needed a name for a forum that wasn't connected to any of my other names at the time, and it just stuck. I think it came from missing a few syllables out of the start of someone's email address I'd been looking at just beforehand.

Welcome to the mad house.....

Welcome, Kastaka!
I wasn't at Ridges for very long, so we probably did not meet up.

As to the Ridges-Triad connection, there isn't a big one: the founders of the original Triad (Dragonsfall Weyr, Star Lake Weyr, Pern Shadows) all met at Ridges.

Welcome to Triad!

Hi Michelle! Welcome to Triad.

I was at Ridges too. Did you have a bluerider M'aidez?

Eimi · April 13, 2008, 03:58:48 PM

Welcome to Triad! Don't let Emma scare you off. We're not a madhouse. We're all very normal people here....
