Hello all! I'm a newbie hailing from Sunny Florida, whose life is pretty dull right now. I'm unsure as to how exactly to get started. If someone would be so kind as to explain how the posting system works I'd appreciate it.

Also, to Impress you contact the Rider of the Dragon rising to mate, correct? And do I need to e-mail my Weyrleaders before requesting to Impress? I read all of the beginner's handbook posts, but I find myself still confused.

Other than that, I have some great storylines rattling around in my head and would love to get started! Willing to co-post with anybody at my weyr, and willing to take any advise you would like to offer!

Hi Alex! Welcome to Triad Weyrs. Any moment now you'll be assigned a mentor and then you'll have your very own 'Answers Central' since one of the roles of the mentor is to answer every question you can think up.

I see your persona will be at Dolphin Cove Weyr so there's no rush to get all the details about Impression sorted out now. The Hatching there is still a while off.

Hi Alex, and welcome!

It may seem like a silly question, but I'll ask it anyhow: Have you subscribed to the Triad mailing list yet? When Hatching approaches, a call will be sent out for all candidates to send their info to the appropriate persons.

In the meantime, think about what you want to happen to your persona to establish her character. Most of us -- myself included -- will be very happy to offer up coposts to help you to do so.

I don't have any personas at DCW yet (still a bit new myself!) but i'm working on one or two that may be in the vicinity... if i get one up, i'm always game for a co-post!

So, enjoy the fun - and the confusion will die down, the more you read and learn. :study: Luckily there's checks here too, mentors help keep us on track till we 'earn our wings' if you'll pardon the pun. LOL People are so encouraging here, so no worries about anything!
