Something really random happened to my brother yesterday.  He got a call on his cell from Scholastic telling him he won 2 tickets to go see JK Rowling in New York for her Harry Potter Q&A and signing.  He entered the sweepstakes, you see  :D  So, if all goes well and we can afford the flight and hotel, we're going to go!  It's very exciting.  And totally random.

I just hope it works out  :love5:

Quote from: "Avril"Paula, I understand the pain. All summer I rode New Jersey Transit between Eric's and school/work, and it was a pain. We caught an express, and they would make an announcement "This is an express to New York, the last local stop will be New Brunswick followed by Newark International Airport. We will not be stopping at Edison, Metropark(lalala)". And there were STILL people who would want to go to, say, Rahway, get on, ask the conductor if it went to Rahway once he came by, and flipped out. *sigh*

WEll, I can't really say much... That happens to me sometimes.  In my defense, though, all the trains are in Japanese... XD

When I used to live in Austin, I didn't have a car and didn't need one cause the public transportation there is really good. But if I'd a dollar for everytime I was going somewhere new and misread the map and got on the bus going the wrong way! Or better yet, a dollar for every time I fell asleep on the bus, missed my stop, and had to either get off the bus and get to the next stop for that bus going back to the stop I'd missed or just sit on that bus till it circled around (depending on how close to the end of the route I was when I woke up! :jg: ). Anyway, I'd prolly be rich! :jg:

And Dana, I'm so totally jealous! That's awesome!

Oh, yes, I've slept past my stop too.  :sleepy1:

I've two random things:

First, regarding my Netflix - I'm gonna save up empty slots on Netflix till I have enough to get the entire 21 disc series of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon that began airing in 2003.

Second, regarding Travian (a strategy war game Mikel introduced me to) - When people send me in game messages asking/warning me to stop attacking them, and they don't bother spelling out the words 'you' and 'your' it makes me want to attack them even more. I can understand bad spelling. I'm a poor speller. I can understand less than stellar grammar. I'm a bit gramatically impaired myself. I can even understand poor word usage. Not everyone playing an international game is very fluent in English. However... the fact that someone is trying to get me to take them seriously when they can't even bother to type the Y and O of the words YOU and YOUR just ticks me off and makes me want to raze their village to the ground.

Really random: I have had 4 phone numbers in my life. Of these, 3 of them have had a 0 in the second position of the last 4 digits. (i.e. 1-XXX-XXX-X0XX). That is REALLY WEIRD.

There's a juvenile beaver in the creek behind the building I work in! We've been catching glimpses of the critter in the tall grass at a distance and wondering just what he was (he always scampered off before anyone could make a positive ID. Guesses ranged from it being a nutria to it being a groundhog, but beaver was always dismissed cause no one had spotted the distinctive tail until now). My supervisor just caught a picture of it sitting at the edge of the parkinglot eating something and it included the tail. It's so cute!
