Perhaps I should have thought of this before I got one, but what do you Pern-experts think a Weyrharper does?  In traditional Pern and in Triad's Pern?

My slight disclaimer: I am nowhere NEAR an expert! That said, here's what I think a Weyrharper would do:

A Weyrharper is supposed to gauge the morale of the weyr. If it's low, they do what they can to help raise it, whether that means having some kind of informal, or formal, gathering in the evenings or being the confidant for someone.  Also, I think they'd be involved in anything that has to do w/ psychological type help for individuals.

Does that make sense? I hope so! LOL

Negotiations for any types of problems that seem unresolvable by the parties involved -- this is particularly important in a Weyr where there are dragons involved.
Wills? Would people on Pern have them? A document stating, "upon my death, my children should be cared for by _________."

They do have Wills, but I think the Headwoman deals with them - but that might be a fandom memory not a book one.  Thanks for the ideas, though, Vix and Allison.

Beyond the obvious (singing, teaching) I recall then working as spies, Justice of the Peace, historians, arbitors.
