Okay, in the last two months I've been out to see two new releases to theatres, POTC 3 and Harry Potter - OotP.  The trailers which accompanied them dragged another two movies to my attention which I intend to go see within the next couple of weeks.

Premonition with Sandra Bullock - never a dull movie if it has SB in it.
and
Die Hard 4 with Brucie boy! *swoons*

My kids are off to see The Simpsons Movie this weekend, something I don't intend to see.  Melanie went to see it two nights ago and won't stop singing "Spider Pig" along with her uni friends.  *sighs*

So, are there any movies this season that you have vowed not to miss?

I've vowed to miss them all.  I am very un-moved by movies.

*However* that didn't stop me getting dragged along to POTC3 while I was on holiday in Australia.  What can I say?  I could have read a book in the time wasted in the theatre.  Next time I'll take a book and a torch.

I still haven't seen Harry Potter or Shrek 3 yet.  I'll catch OotP this weekend, the last film I saw at the cinema was Spiderman 3 in Cambridge 6 weeks ago.

OotP and PotC3 are ones I went to see because I wanted to.

I went to a few horror-type ones, our way to pull Chenoa out of depression, but I'd not advise those.

I've seen several movies over the last few weeks. Most recently, I've seen Harry Potter and Transformers.

I really enjoyed Harry Potter, of course, though they left out way more than they had to and definetly way more than they needed to. Why are they trying to make each movie shorter than the one before it???

Transformers was just plain awesome. It was awesome surrounded by a crunchy awesome coating. I mean, car and jet chases, explosions, hot military men with large guns shooting things, and 50 ft robots duking it out on both land and sky? What is not to love?

I can't wait to see The Simpsons Movie and Stardust and Superbad and I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry and Resident Evil: Extinction and Hot Rod and Becoming Jane.

I like movies. lol

Patrick

Still haven't seen OOtP But I want to so bad!  And Shrek3 Even though I keep hearing it wasn't as good as the first two.

And I'm going to see the Simpsons movie because my sister will drag me there and it'll just be hell incarnate but I did like the Spiderpig song....  :geek:

OOTP is the only movie I've seen in theatres all year.

LOL I saw POTC 3 and it was good, although they REALLY could've cut some of the parts down and made it shorter.  I really enjoyed Harry Potter, but here's my grip: If they can spend 3 1/2 hours on POTC 3, why not go a little longer on Harry Potter?? Anyways, I'm off to see The Simpsons tonight and I'm excited b/c I love the Simpsons.  I also want to see I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry because I love Adam Sandler and I love plain dumb comedy. LOL

Okay, so I went and saw The Simpsons Movie last night.  I loved it! If you like Simpsons, you'll like hte movie.  it's like an extra long Simpsons episode.  I, personally, thought it was  great and had all kinds of humor in it. :) fun stuff!

Really?! I was disappointed. There weren't enough large robots fighting and what fighting there was, was too blurry. And there were SO MANY PLOT HOLES I thought I was going to start screaming at the screen at the end. Also, the end? It was like watching people making out on top of their fat friend. EEEW.

Harry Potter I enjoyed because, although they cut a lot out, it still made for a good story. I'm not a crazy fan though so it hurt a little less. :) Pirates also had many plot holes and many ridiculous things. I'd rate it somewhere between OotP and Transformers.

I can't wait to see 'Stardust' and 'The Golden Compass' though. They have AIRSHIPS! *melts* I loves the Steampunkery.

Haven't seen an ad for Stardust, though I am waiting on The Golden Compass too, it looks to be a good movie.

The only thing I don't get is why they felt they had to change the name of the Philip Pullman film/book.  What's wrong with the original title - 'Northern Lights'????

To give them artistic licence?

I know with the new movie I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry the whole storyline was pinched from an Aussie movie, then changed ever so slightly so they didn't have to pay the original writer his dues.

There's a big court case about to start on that.

Maybe the same thing?

"Based on" is becoming a very well used Credit in Hollywood these days...

According to one review I read, TRANSFORMERS was not all that good.  It concentrated on special effects, nothing but explosions and giant alien robots.  No character development.

DUDE!  It is a summer action movie!  It is TRANSFORMERS!

SHEESH!
