Ecological "nature friendly" way of gardening.

1) Weeding.

Find few euthiastich children of right age, give them garden showels, show which ones are weeds and let loose. Nevermind the feet wide holes and the uprooted grass turfs or that the lawn will look like it's been a target for bombing.  

2) Pest controll
I don't know what they are called in english but there's red beetle like bug who likes to eat lilies.
Find again before mentioned children. Show them bugs, two rocks and let loose. Nevermind that it sounds like a b-class horror/splatter movie:
- here's one again.

- it's still wiggling!
*cruch, cruch*
- ooh, parts of it splattered all the way here!

3) Watering flowers
 step one: find a child, the younger the better  
 step two: fill a watering can and give it to the child
 step three: sit back and watch how the flowers get wet, and rocks, and garden statue, and shoes and clothes and pavement.
 step four: change the child to dry clothes.

ooooo yes, the pets.  I used to keep jars full of grasshoppers.  And tupperware full of snakes XD  But my mom made me let the snakes go :(

Oh, Paula, I LOVE it!  I have used that method of watering...but not the weeding or Pest Control.  As far as the pets...you build them a nice little nest in the corner of the yard to rest in...then they are gone by morning!  Okay so it seldom works...the kids are too smart for that...but it WAS a GOOD EFFORT!

I kept a few garden snakes when I was younger.  They always got loose and their favorite place to rest?  Dresser drawers.  My sister always hated that!

Well, I wish I had a garden to take care of! I live in the middle of the desert on a big pile of dirt...haha, lots of mud though!!!

The only ones that got loose in the house were the ones I intentionally released, like in the bathroom when my older brother was in there.  I distinctly remember peaking in through the door and laughing when he jumped 30feet as it slithered across his bare feet XD  oooooooh the memories....

Dirts a start ;)  Now all you need is the right KIND of dirt and a lot of water and you'll be set!  I remember a few lawns and gardens when I lived in Nevada... Course they probably spent their whole paychecks on the water bill...

That's the truth! Plus, we're in the 12th year of a drought and I just feel guilty watering the few plants I already have.  I suppose I can just call it "natural landscaping"! LOL

Well, what if you gave your plants bottled water from the store?  You wouldn't be taking any water away from the drought effected areas that way!  Its guilt-free gardening XD
