Since we have some truly talented folks in Triad, we've decided to put that talent to use and open up a library of Triad's Songs and Ballads!

Sometimes you might want to use a song in a post, but aren't willing (or able, if you're me! :D) to write one yourself. To make it easier, we're hoping to collect a nice selection of Pernese songs written by our members and shared with everyone.

The Song Archive will have two sections: one for general songs that will be well known by all of Pern, and one for recent compositions that make their premiere in posts. The recently composed songs will have information about where and when they were first performed so that we can make sure people at Amber Hills aren't singing a song written by a harper at Garnet Valley too quickly. ;)

Since we really would like some songs, we'll be giving anyone who creates a song 10 marks/song as a thank you.

Do you want the songs to be in actual scores? Or do you want them as purely lyrical?

What about in filk form with music from another source so people know how it's supposed to sound?

I wrote that song about 10 years ago, and it seemed Triad appropriate. I've written two new ones, and I'll be submitting them soon.

That is acceptable, Cali, as long as you aren't going to be putting the music up. ;) "Based on the tune of..." in the notes is okay, though.

We now have 3 songs in our new archive of music! 2 written by Becki and 1 written by Vix!
