An explanation

I've finally changed the smilie in my signature from  :lurk:
I guess that it was about time. I thought about changing to  :hippy2: or  :hiding:  or even  :coffee:  but instead settled on  :devil:  
I did not choose this one because I'm particularly devilish -- in fact,  :angel: would be much more fitting.
The reason I chose that one is that when I hover the cursor over it on the emoticons screen, it reads "teufel," which was the name of my very favorite professor and drama coach many years ago when I went for my B.A.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Wow, that's quite a last name, since it means 'devil' in German! :D

And a sweeter man I've never known -- the name didn't fit him at all! He stood about 5'1", was in his 70's and still teaching drama. He had an odd laugh -- he'd throw back his head, close his eyes, open his mouth, and no sound would come out. Both of his parents were deaf and communicated only by signing -- he didn't speak until he was 5 or 6 years old and it was thought that he was deaf and mute as well.

You will no doubt be surprised to know that this is NOT the first time someone has said something like that to me

Thats quite the story he had.  And how would his parent's know if he was deaf and mute?  They couldn't hear him anyways.
