One of my favorite quotes is an old Japanese haiku that no one knows who wrote it, but I found it in a book called "KOWAIDAN" by Lafcadio Hearn:

CHOU WO OU
KOKORO MOCHITASHI
ITSUMADEMO

Oh! i collect quotes :)

I save them in text files and pull them out whenever I need a little extra...

I have several favorites, but my files are at home!

This became one of my favorite quotes once I grew out of my pretentious phase. ;) Man, I suffered so much in my teenage years to be able to look down my nose at people who read fun books!

I'm glad you got over it too bree because then I'm sure you'd be looking down your nose so much here your eyes would be permanently crossed!

Oh the horrors or middle school and high school when we had to read the "classics"!!! My own personal form of rebellion was to never, ever read a full book we were assigned. Always read just enough so that I would do well, but usually only read the begining and the end, never the un-important middle!  :cheers:

I read all the books on my high school reading lists, even though you only had to read a portion of the list. They'd made the list longer than you had to do so folks would have options.

I will honestly say that I haven't sought out 'classics' since highschool though! lol

I tell you what though, I HATED when we as a class would be reading a book, because we'd do a chapter a week and by the second week I'd be done with the book. lol
