Hey now, it's not a problem if you can't PRONOUNCE them!

I wouldn't want to pronounce Zpx all the time either, but tis quite simple to spell. :D

Point taken. But but...I mean come on, he named a baker Gebackstuck!!!

Bree

Well, that just depends on if you speak German or not.

Which I do. ;)

Which means Mikel never would have snuck that name past me! :p

Ich glaube, dass es nicht so leicht werden, wenn er das nocheinmal versucht!

Avril, in general Mikel goes to babblefish.com to find words that are related to something important to his persona in whatever language sounds good. Then he names them that.

Therefore Gebackstuck was a wonderful name for a baker.

All my personae names mean something, at  least to me.

Am I alone in just making up random combinations of syllables for names? The only requirement I have is that I can pronounce it. lol

Patrick

I'm always able to pronounce my names too.  I've had very few names that have had any real meaning, I did it on accident once, but the name didn't match the character at all.

Conversely, am I the only one that insists that the names I create mean something?

I tend to use a name generator when I actually get around to making up characters. Of course, I've also been known to jot down random town names from road signs or glance through staff directories for ideas. If something strikes me, I'll use it somewhere.

Yes.
And actually, it's "contrarily" rather than "conversely."

To stray off this tangent.  I also use my graphing calculator to make names.  It's lots of fun!  You Alpha lock the calculator then close your eyes and press random buttons.  When you've typed a bit you open your eyes and take out the stuff that doesn't make sense.  Then you use the letters on the screen to make up a name.  Thats how Ioporol (I'poro) came into existence, and Foroth, and Kouna, and... well I think thats it but a LOT of my names are made that way.  And its easy because whenever I'm bored in class I have my calculator, so I just pull it out and start making names.  I then write them down for later.  I have a list thats about fifty names long.
