Quote from: "Amanda"You know, speaking of chocolate, I bought a $19 heart-box of Valentines chocolate for $3 last night.

Is it wrong, that me, of all spend less people (Mikel will verify) passed up the $19 valentines chocolate and went straight for the half off Godiva at a rate of $40 (originally $80) for a HUGE box?

Not wrong, but not something I'd do. $40 for chocolate seems excessive to me. No matter how good it is. And before I'd pay $80 for chocolate, there'd better be some 'special' ingredients in there. If I eat a peice of $80 chocolate, I better start seeing flowers growing out of my walls or something. lol

Godiva is the chocolatiest chocolate that ever chocolated.

I used to be able to get a 50% employee discount on top of the usual 50% off seasonal discounts sometimes when I worked at B&N. I bought a pound of it once and brought it for christmas for everyone. They all ate it in one night and made themselves sick, but I've been told it was totally worth it. :D

Well, one time when I was in Vegas, I paid $9.00 for a single chocolate truffle. It was about the size of any other truffle... but it was NINE dollars. I'd just doubled my starting money on the craps table though, so I was feeling spendy and got it.

I regreted it almost as soon as the money left my hand and while walking out of the shop, I told my friend I'd just been raped for a peice of chocolate. lol

Then I ate it. And my friend had to remind me of what I'd just said cause I almost turned around to go get another peice.

So, I know the joys of the expensive chocolate... It just makes my soul cry to spend that much money on it. lol

Yeah and I know where you live!

Be afraid Mikel. Be very afraid... the last guy I knew who tried to get between a desperate woman and chocolate ended up using a public toilet seat for defense!

I also know the lure of expensive chocolate Amanda... My absolute favorite is Belgium dark chocolate and hazelnut cream, or dark chocolate truffles. Godiva is good, but it's NOTHING in comparison to the real thing!

Now that is a story worth hearing I'd say  :alien:

I had a class in college, Sexual Dynamics and Culture (My all time favorite class!), that had eight students -four Anthropology majors, three minors, and a battalion leader who was the only male in class.

The guy spent a lot of time defending his sex from us (even though we weren't actually picking on them, we liked him) -but didn't stop picking on women in general until he made the mistake of ticking off one of the other majors. I missed most of the argument, but apparently he bet that the girl could go for two weeks without chocolate. He really shouldn't have -he was well known for always having a Hershey's bar in his backpack.

The girl broke up with her boyfriend of three years, who she'd caught cheating, an hour before class at the end of the third week. He made a smart remark, and she attacked. He defended himself (his backpack was one that had a chest strap, so he couldn't get it off without getting hurt) with the only thing he had to hand -a toilet seat on top of the janitor's cart that had broken. He lost.

There you have it.
