And I'll hand out mine.... I'm ThellaofTriad on AIM, but lately my rare appearances on chat seem to be in the hours when no one else is online except those who forget to log off their computers or have broadband (aka 5-7 am CST).

A slight warning - hotmail likes to eat the mailing list's emails at times, or just reject them, so if you seem like you aren't getting mail (there are usually 2-3 per day minimum), then Hotmail may be going haywire.

Feel free to sign up for a username for the message forum and start hatching your egg (*laughs* you'll just have to watch your user avatar for that one to make sense).

Oh, and for the question no one answered earlier: There are Thirteen months in a Pernese Turn, plus two extra days for Turnover - 366 days. Leap Years occur every 6 Turns, to give us 367 days.

Okay, I've registered...but there's a slight problem. I can't seem to be able to log-in to my account. Why is that? I've sent for my password and even then I can't seem to get into my account. I don't get it >.<

Oh, is there a way for my to change my password? Cause the one I have right now is only a collection of letters.

While logged in, go to your Control Panel/Options (up in the top right corner of the screen).

Then go to Edit Profile.

Fill in whatever password you'd like in the first field (the one for password), then click the Save Changes button, and that should change your password.

If that doesn't work, send a PM or an email to either myself or Lexy and we'll reset it to whatever you specify.

Oh, now I have another question...sorry I'm just bubbling with questions [I'm worst in school amazingly!] well, how do I sign-up for a mentorship?

Cause I'm not a member of Triad Weyrs or Dreams End...cause I don't know how to PBEM. Or do I have to be a member in order to take the mentorship?

Hmm...strangely this question sounds offly familiar...lol.

When you submit a persona, you're assigned a mentor as part of the persona approval.

However, you can request one even as a lurker. They can answer all questions via email privately.

And there's always the message forums. No question is too mundane here (aka How do Pernese wash their socks?) or too strange (aka anything Mikel asks :rofl: ). You may end up with a quick answer, or a rowdy debate until we find an answer b/c no one ever thought to wonder about it before.

And the end result will go into our Revised Website's FAQs whenever I get off my lazy backside to complete the revisions.

Don't worry about not knowing how to PBeM. You'll learn as you go, and in a way, chatting on the message forum is similar. The difference for PBeM coposting (story-writing) is that you write for your persona and their speech, thoughts, actions, etc. You jot off a paragraph (or two, or three, or five...), then the co-writer takes their turn to write for their persona, and back and forth until all writers agree that the story's finished.

Then the final shiney story goes to the mailing list for all to enjoy.

Oh aight. Hmm...debating with myself if I should just join or if I should remain a lurker awhile longer [shakes head] hard decision.

Do you think a mentor would be willing to teach me how PBEM? I know how to roleplay on forums and other types [I dislike MUDs!!] is that anyway similar to PBEM?

PBEMing is easy! It really is! It's basically like writing short stories with one other person (or two, or three, or more...) as a cowriter! Or even just by yourself! They're called 'coposts' here. It's really fun! All you have to do is ask me for a copost and I can almost guarantee you I'll say yes!!! I'm addicted to them, you know.

Do I have to get the NPC's of my persona approved first? Or can I just go ahead and make-em up?

No, NPCs don't require approval, although they have to stick to canon like the PC does. Names are the biggest issue - don't use anything Terran (Earth-like), such as Bill, Edward, Michelangelo, Juan, etc. Non-English, Spanish, or French based names are usually passable. We had a member once who named all of her personas and NPCs with obscure Russian names, and another who liked Maori ones.

NPCs aren't fiercely regulated, simply b/c you could never write for all of your persona's family without probably getting bored.
