What a fun thread! I believe in ghosts, but I always get a weird feeling when I read peoples' ghost stories--like I'm on the verge of tears or something, because it's such a hard topic to wrap my mind around sometimes. Anyone else experience that?

Well, I have a few to contribute, although none of them are personal experiences. My mother worked on standardbred racing farms for the better part of her life, so she lived in some pretty old houses. She says that three of them were haunted. In one, she saw an older gentleman in a suit from time to time. A little girl in a sun hat lived in another house, and my mom never actually saw her, but her roommates did. Usually, our German shepherd would stand up and stare at nothing while wagging his tail, and then someone would spot her. (Here comes that weird feeling again.) In the third, something would always pound on the washing machine at night--you know,  that hollow metal sound. I can't even imagine how creepy that would be. They also started tugging on her pillow, and she let it go for a while, but one night, she yelled "e-NOUGH!" and they went back to banging on the washer. I guess it's the next best thing when you don't have chains to rattle.

Oh, Eimi! I can't even imagine living without watermelon and oranges! I go through a watermelon every day during the summer. They're REALLY cheap here because of all of the Amish and Mennonites; one produce stand near my house has a hay wagon full of melons that they couldn't sell during any given week. I bet I could buy two and ship them to Japan for less than it would cost you to buy half of one. :(

When I was younger, one of my camp counselors was Australian. She offered us some vegemite...I don't remember if I actually tasted it, which leads me to believe that I didn't. I certainly remember what it LOOKED like. :]

I am choking on my grapes, Eimi.  :laughing6:

But please don't call the Japanese paramedics.

I was seated in the very back of my sixth-grade classroom, right next to the little bookshelf, so I saw the books every day and finally decided to read them.

I'm not exactly sure WHY these books were offered to eleven- and twelve-year olds. The librarian at didn't want to show me to the adult section for the rest of them...maybe he thought I'd get sucked into smutopia back there.  :angel7:

I've never even had Chinese food. It never occurred to me before now! Dear, dear.

Well...POTATOES. If I were trapped on an island for the rest of my life, that island, God willing, would be saturated with potatoes.

I've been nurturing K'tani, a greenrider and an absolute (excuse my French) bitch. He's based on a guy I've known for years.

I would love to walk or bike from the USA's east coast to its west coast. Not much of a vacation, but it would definitely be a trip. That, or the whole Appalachian Trail.
