Age Modification Rules
Article by: Triad Council
A persona can be aged up or down using member rewards marks. You might want to use this reward to age an Apprentice Crafter character up so they can become Journeyman, or remove an extra Turn from a character so they're still eligible to Impress. The following rules are in effect:
- The cost is 100 marks per Turn.
- Both PCs and NPCs may be aged up.
- NPCs with more than one owner must have all owners agree to the change (for example an NPC child of 2 PCs must have both PC owners agree)
Aging up happens off camera and is typically accounted for by "a period of time away" where the character should be absent from IC locations (a minimum of 3 RL months). This is required for PCs having a significant age jump (more than 2 Turns). Adjusting a young character up or down by a single Turn can be handled fuzzily.
When a character comes back into play, they may reference being gone for "some time" but it should not be explicitly mentioned how long of time they were gone for. This is to prevent in-character plot confusion. For example, a character should not say that they were gone 5 Turns when they're coming back to the same PC location after 6 game months.
