New Pern Book Coming

I found this link today, and from the looks of it there's going to be a new Pern book coming out in October of this year by Anne's daughter Gigi.

Oh, wow. I'm not sure how to feel. Is this actually gonna be a post-Thread novel? I might be willing to give it a shot if that's the case; to see what Pern's aging heroes are up to, and how everyone is coping.

Depends if it is any better than Todd's efforts, he tried, but to me it just didn't feel quite right.

It would be good if they bring out new editions of the older books at the same time. I found it really hard to get them in the shops or the library when I was re-reading them last summer, which made me sad.

Yeaaahhh, I"m always pretty leery of what AM's children write in Pern. Todd's efforts, at best, felt like reading fanfiction :/ If Gigi's isn't better than that, then I probably won't even read it.

I haven't even red Todd's books. The last Pern-book I've red was "The Skies of Pern". Felt like the story was concluded in that book.
