Humor on another McCaffrey site.

I sometimes stop by A Meeting of Minds, a sister site to the New Kitchen Table. Last year, a member posted some news they had supposedly seen on Todd's site, where he announced his sister Gigi is writing another book for Pern. Then, they would work on Mrs. McCaffrey's last book together, rewriting it.

Members of AMOM weighed in by saying they hoped Gigi would hold to Anne's Pern better than Todd did. Another commented that they didn't didn't understand the fuss over Todd's Pern.

Still another replied "What the fuss is? It's like reading really bad fan fic by a thirteen-year-old girl. Canon-following PBeM Weyrs would have rejected the plots for being too melodramatic and unbelievable."

I'm still chuckling over that.

I love that site, there are some great conversation and theory crafting over there.

I have an account there and look in sometimes... Honestly I did like the way he did the first bit of his Plague plot, weaving in Wind Blossom and the Old Pern with what was going on then. It was a novel idea, seeing how the Weyrs would work in such a crisis situation instead of how they shut themselves off during Moreta's Plague. But yeah I wouldn't have done things later the exact same way. Still it was entertaining reading for the most part. *shrugs*
