Six Years to the Day!

Ladies and gentlemen, it is exactly six years since I moved to Kyushu...  Considering the average amount of time for someone in my position to live and work in Japan is two years, I think this is cause for celebration.  My friends and I are considering erecting a statue in my honor in front of the local train station.  Our other idea is to name a pub in town after me.  Considering how much money I've contributed to the local economy through the drinking of beer and consuming of bar food, I think this would be an apt tribute.  Other ideas, of course, will be accepted and duly considered.

So here's to me and another year in Japan!

That's a long time!  So are you there indefinitely?

I dunno Amanda...  I don't have much reason to go back to the states at this point.  I'll probably be in Japan, but I don't know if I'll be here in this town forever.  It depends on if they eventually wise up and offer more money ;)

lol eimi... congrats! i wish my first foreign job would have worked out for me. snowdrifts and bregott for life haha. but thats okay. i get to see the world anyway.

Well, I ended up coming in third place in my towns 3-man team boat races (paddle, not sail), so who knows... If this teaching gig doesn't work out, maybe I'll take to the sea myself...  XD
