Dragoncon 2008

Anyone besides me going to Dragoncon in Atlanta this year?  I'd love to meet up with everyone.  Anne and Todd McCaffrey are going to be there this year, as well as Jody Lynn Nye  and a few other friends of AM.

I wish I could go!  Does AM do book signings, Cali?

Yup, she does free book signings I think twice over the weekend.  The lines are super long though.  Todd McCaffrey's way more available.  He hangs around in the Track room and goes out to drink with everyone in the evenings.

Now I really wish I could go  *g*  Ah well....maybe she'll come out West again someday....hopefully....

She might next time one of her coauthored Pern books come out, she's done book signings in California with Todd in the past.

Oh yes  :D  I was lucky enough to go to one of those a few years ago, when I was in high school still.

I really wish I could go.  The last time AM was there, I lived in GA and Dragoncon was being held during the Summer.  Kurt was visiting me from Texas.  We were supposed to go, but I wound up getting in a car accident.  No one was hurt, but it pretty much ruined the day.

im only about 4 hrs drive away but i cant afford a hotel stay or tickets right now soo....

If you volunteer 5 hours a day for 4 hours at the con in like security or information services, or something like that you get a free pass.  And there are tons of people asking for room shares so you could bunk with somebody for like $150-$200 for all 4 days.
