Oh My, Another Newbie!

Howdy folks!

I stumbled upon this site at random one day and I've been reading everything I can about it since! I'm lurking at the moment but I hope to become a player soon. I had to tell my mom about you, she's also a Pern fan. *grin*

What can I tell you about myself? I am 42, married 20 years in Sept., we have a 14 year old son, an 11 year old black lab, several fish and a 15 year old mortgage. For three years now, I've lived in a construction zone as we're doing our own renovations, but I love the work. I'm a crossing guard with a degree in graphic design (long story), and my hobbies range from recreating medieval clothing and illustration (manuscript painting) to PBE RPGs and back to native gardening and archery. When it comes to creative outlets, there is nothing I won't try, at least once.

I am also ADHD, in case that wasn't obvious. *grin*

Edit: Oh, and if you're not sure about creating your own persona, there are tons of great characters already created and ready for adoption. That's how I started out and it was a big help and way less intimidating!

I've recieved so many great responses now, I guess the trick will be picking who to email back first!

I've only got one character idea so far and I'm not sure I should start with anymore than the one. Besides, I'd like to practice with NPCs first so I guess I'll be asking for anyone with one of them for me to play.
