What would you be?

Oh, I hadn't thought about the height problems as well. LOL

I'd have to add that to my list of reasons for not climbing adragonback.  My whole family are aware of my fear - and thinks its a hoot!

Anyone who can only think of only one way to spell a word obviously lacks imagination.

I could probably do the dragonrider thing but, you know, fifty Turns of it?  Even the WWII pilots on whom they're based got time off for surviving!

Kaysea

You must have a head for heights hun.

I hate flying.  If I had me a dragon I think I'd be one of those who jumped /between/ before my draggie got very far from the ground. LOL

I agree with the height issue: can't stand to be up there, though I do love my roller coasters. Somehow I don't think I'd be a good dragonrider.

I'd probably have a family and be working in the creche somewhere. Possibly a healer or harper, but maybe not.

I have what I would want to be, and what I would probably actually be if I lived on Pern.

I want to think that I would be a greenrider, because I have always loved flying. In planes, in my dreams, in my imagination. Even when I was in gymnastics my favorite event was vault, because during the seconds between pushing off the vault and landing it was the closest I could ever get to flying.

I have a feeling though, that I would have grown up at a large hold instead, and been married off early, unless I managed to escape to the printer hall or weavers, since I love the rhythmic bliss of running thread through a loom, and I do have an overactive imagination that might stand me well with the printers...
"Permission to cover my nakedidity, sir?"

Wow, gymnastics?  Something I don't think I could have done!

Hm.  I wonder what would happen if someone made a candidate who is afraid of heights but impresses? *G*

I would like to be a hold harper.  Being responsible for the education of the hold's youngsters and writing stories through verse is what I'd love to do on Pern.  The next persona I create I think will be a Harper.

Amanda N

I used to write a lot of prose, but not so much anymore.  I stink at it anyway. :)

Avery

I would love to be a dragonrider.

I'd either be a really happy Harper scribe playing with records (like Yvonne- the archaeologist in us!), or I'd be a dolphineer, because if swimming with normal Earth dolphins was amazing, swimming with talking dolphins would be better.

Avril, you've swum with dolphins before?

Yep! Marineland, the world's oldest oceanarium (precursor to Sea World, etc) is located in my home county in Florida. They offered dolphin shows when I was younger, as well as educational programs. One of those was the opportunity to swim in the main tank with the dolphins for an hour. I had so much fun. We all (the 5 kids and the dolphins) played with a basketball, flinging it back and forth and whenever a dolphin thought we were getting tired of, it would swim over and support us. It was such an amazing experience, and I'd love to do it again.

Sadly, hurricane damage has relegated Marineland to only the place where the dolphins who lived there stay. The old tank (where they did the filming and the shows) and the stadium is now destroyed. They still occasionally do educational programs, but that's about it.

Oh man, I would love to swim with dolphins.  I did get to swim with wild manatees once.  Man, that was a great experience for me!  I also got to see newly hatched sea turtles that same week.  Awesome. :)

When my mom use to work for the Miami Seaquarium I swam with the dolphins, and got to pet Lolita the orca. But I was only six or so. I've also seen quiet a few wild manatees when I use to live down in Florida. It's really a unique experience.

:skeptisch: All you dolphin swimming people better have Dolphin Hall characters or I'll want to know why!

I ran out of character slots  :bounce:

But don't worry, I'm grooming the path away for one.
