Get Involved (And Get Rewarded!)

The Council is on the lookout for a few good members who are looking for a way to get a little more involved... and of course, we're willing to reward that involvement. ;)

Right now we're looking for two main things:

1) Welcomers

Each location needs one "welcomer" who will be assigned the task of greeting each new persona (especially those belonging to the newbies!) and offering coposts.

For this reason, it is obviously preferable that the welcomer has a persona in the location for which they are welcoming. We'd also prefer these people not necessarily be the local rankers... after all, rankers should be offering posts, too. :D

We'd like to get as many different people as possible involved, but if we can't find welcomers for each location, we'll be happy to accept any overlap!

In return for accepting this duty, you'll get a "salary" of 10 marks/month for as long as you keep up with your duties. People who welcome for more than one location can get more than one salary. And don't forget... posting with a newbie gets you 5 bonus marks. :D

2) Advertisers & Recruiters

Our advertising group is in some sad shape! We need people willing to write and post ads and plugs to various forums and lists, to let those seeking a new Weyr who we are and what we're about!

Anyone who joins in to help advertising will get 10 marks each time they post an approved plug or ad to one of the various boards or lists. And if you manage to recruit a member... well, after their first approved posts, you get 25 marks as thanks!

If you'd like to volunteer for either of these, just reply to this post and tell us which one (or both!) and if you're interested in helping with a location, which location(s) you'd like to welcome for!

I'd love to be a welcomer for DCW!  It was my first location and to be honest I feel my characters there are getting a bit neglected.  And if no one offers I'd do AHH too.

Hmm, I could be the welcomer to DFW.  I have plenty of sona's there to find _something_ to post, no matter what type of sona shows up.  And I'd say the DH, but I already pounce on anybody who even stands too close to the Hall... so I'll let somebody else volunteer for that.  

Poor Advertising... I had such high hopes of doing more.  I'm not going to officially volunteer for that since I did once before and all I did was pass out bookmarks of triad at DragonCon last year!  But I will rededicate myself to working on signatures people can use on other boards and spamming all the AM sites I know.

I'd like to be a welcomer for River Bluff Weyr.  Between Arateyka and her big family and Jh'slaen and F'naren I am sure I can find somebody to post with almost any variety of new persona.

Heather, would you like to be a 2nd DCW welcomer who takes care of the Harper Hall and Dolphin Hall, which are SORT of DCW but not quite? ;)
