(face in hands) 2015 is being a dick so far.

My boss Elaine's older daughter, Mary, hit her head really hard two days ago and had to go back to the ER today because she wasn't waking up. Mary is extremely physically and mentally disabled, so head injuries are very worrisome. Not to mention pipes backed up in Elaine's basement (our workspace) thanks to tree root invasion, to the point a team had to come in and rip out the drywall. I haven't worked all week right when I need money for veterinarian bills.

A deviantArt artist who founded another game I'm in just lost a close friend, so I'm worried for her, too, and my twin sister Angel's ex-husband is playing hardball over custody of their daughter, Rin. But he's also playing dirty as hell, with outright lies now and other asshole things he's done in the past, and the lawyer my mother and sister hired is going to do their best to make him pay out his nose for that. He could lose what custody he has, which of course isn't fair to my niece because she loves her daddy and paternal grandmother, and she doesn't understand what's happening, being only five.

If Lin does get custody full time, this house is going to become unbearably noisy and crowded, and I'm going to be hitting the bottles if I can't move out. But I do want what's best for Rin, and if not being with her father is it, then that needs doing.

So everyone, I could use lots of good thoughts for Elaine, Mary, Angel, Rin, and my fellow Deviant, if you don't mind. I'm worried about them.

This isn't what I expected when I went into 2015. (sigh)

Good news! I just got the text that Mary's brain housing unit is okay, and she's bouncing back just fine. Whew!

Oh, wow. :( Sorry to hear it! That stinks. Best thoughts to all of them, and I'm really glad that Mary is ok! (poor girl)

Just a thought, though - my cousin's lady has had some issues with custody because of things that she put on the internet in what she thought was a safe place. I'm assuming that names have been changed for anonymity? *hugs* I hate to bring it up, but if said ex is playing dirty then the less ammo the better. Granted, my cousin's lady said something REALLY dumb AND it was on Facebook, but you never know.

People are stupid. My Aunt divorced her husband and he lied about her too. In that case, he did manage to get the kids except for the oldest who wasn't his biologically. She had part visitation but not much. Crazy basically made their lives a hell until they were old enough to move out and get away from him but the damage was done.

Hope everything works out and the kids are always worth fighting for.
