What happened to Anne Rice?

I'm currently reading Anne Rice's book after a long break. Well, the book started well and I was reading it eagerly, but now when I'm reaching near the end of the book, I'm...yawning, struggling my way through it, trying to stay awake! What happened? Where did the good stuff go and when it turned so flat???? Suddenly Mann's book of chinese clay soldiers is far more interesting (Another book I'm currently reading).  :study: Where's the horror, the suspence, the excitement.. where's Lestat? I think I just go back to her earlier vampire books- they were better.

I will eventually read Anne Rice... It's on my "bucket of books list" I think XD  Vampires, though, just never were my thing...
