AHH Gather Changes

So I was an idiot and looked at the wrong calendar.  AHH is in the dead of winter.  At first, I was going to postpone the gather, but then Jane sent me a link that inspired me.

The Gather will go on as planned!  However, it will focus on winter events.

Stalls and food will still be there.  Those serving food will be outside as fires will keep them warm.  Those who are not and wish to brave the cold will be able to be located outside.  The rest will be inside the Hold and Vintner Hall halls (I've gotten permission from Karen).

There will still be activities!

Ice Skating

Sled races

Ski races

Ice  and snow sculpture contests

Archery (dare to brave the cold!)

Snowball fights

Swings (yes, outside!)

Sleigh rides

Snow Maze

Sled decorating contests

Ice fishing contest

Scavenger hunts

inside will be games like chess tournaments and poker tournaments, and even jigsaw puzzle tournaments!

At the 17th hour will be a talent show.  Anyone who wishes to enter simply comes up and performs!

At the 19th hour there will be a light show followed by a feast and dancing that will last into the wee hours of the night.

The Scavenger hunt is something I'd like to really post about.  I'll put a control post out about it and I'd love to see you guys post about it.  Anyone interested?  Groups can not be larger than three people, but can be as small as one.  Children will have different things to search for than adults.

No, hang on.  I'll bring some of my not-native-to-tropical-climates dragonriders down to play in the snow festival, so K'hetah and Zharesti can pair up with volunteers from their respective Weyrs who will be there too.
