So..most of you don't know (Probably just Amanda who reads my LJ), but I thought I would go ahead and let the cat out of the bag. I've decided to join the Navy. As of yesterday, I am waiting for my paperwork to be sent in to get finally selected for an OCS class. Most likely, I will be leaving in Septemberish for about 12 weeks of training. Then, my first 22 months of service, I will likely be stationed on an aircraft carrier.

I'll be a Surface Warfare officer.

Anyway, when the time comes I may have to take an LOA or go inactive depending on my access, time, and travel. We shall see. But I wanted to let everyone know. It's just driving me nuts cause I'm anxious to leave, but I'm terrified of OCS.

My ex went through OCS.  I recommend starting to run now... ;)

Oh, and my ex was on the Abe Lincoln.  I went on it with and it is AMAZING how huge those things are!  Absolutely a floating city.

How exciting for you. My hubby was in the navy aboard an aircraft carrier Ike, I think. I have a cousin who is stationed in Bahrain and she seems to really like what she's been doing.

Mmm Bahrain, that'd be the 5th Fleet who are currently in charge of the antipiracy task force, which is a big thing these days :pirate: . However, Admiral says to nip it in the bud completely, will involve a land war in Somalia which we messed up last time. And we've already got two wars going...

Me? There are so many places I want to go. Wanna go see Jane in New Zealand ( :clown: ), go to Oz, go to Iceland, Scotland, etc etc etc Anyway, yeah Eimi, definitely need to start running.
