Okay so I was thinking today that we all have our nerd moments. You know those geeky moments you're afraid you might get caught doing something that is so uncool and wacky.

So anyway, I'll share some of mine if you share some of yours.

Top 10 Nerd Moments:
1. Tonight when I found out Sirius has an ALL ABBA station. Immediately I turned it on and went around the house singing such classics as Fernando and Super Trooper.
2. When I went to DragonCon and almost keeled over laughing at the Adult Swim-esque gag reels and commercials on DCON TV.
3. Johan walked in and found me playing the Night Rider theme on YouTube on his laptop.
4. I asked my best friend to buy me My Little Ponies for my birthday. I was 21. ;) Oh and bless her, she did.
5. I answer phones at work. Sometimes I answer them in accent. Indian,, Minnesotan, Australian, Cockney, Mexican, I've done em all. Funnily enough people usually just go along with it. It's great.
6. I made my friends scour all of Austria for the perfect hat (think Alps and hats and suspenders).
7. When I tell people my first concert experience was to go see Hanson. Since then have seen them a total of 4 other times.
8. Go to Sweden and end up singing Hanson's MmmBop in karaoke with a Spanish girl that's half drunk.
9. Catch myself walking around the house and using words like Shells and Crackdust when angry.
10. I accidentally burn chocolate while melting it in a pan to make fudge. (I can't cook people!)

I have children, so I can get away with the My Little Ponies with explanation: "I'm just playing with my daughter." (in our family it's the Littlest Petshop. Even nine-year old boys are collecting them, his friend has over 20)

Actually, when you have children, you can get away lot's of silly stuff with the explanation: "Children.... "

* Replaying to telefone with your maiden name (been married almost ten years).
* borrow books from the kid-section in library.

Actually I had The Littlest Pet Shop when I was a kid too. It all started when my Aunt Debby bought me the actual Pet Shop box and one pet when I was in the hospital (car wreck). From there, I think I actually filled up the whole box, then I started collecting the zoo pets. ;) Don't have any of those now. Pretty sure Mom sold them at a garage sale or something. But I do have *some* of my My Little Ponies from the 80s.

I say some cause somehow Mom managed to sell some of those too which horrifies me now. I had the ballet stage and the entire Paradise Estate with furniture. She sold that and my two Sea Ponies along with some other stuff. >.<

I've been a nerd so long I've forgotten most of my moments  ;)  But here's a few of mine until I can remember more....

1) Every Friday my friend and I get together to watch The X-Files series on DVD.  We're now on Season 4.
2) My friends and I hang out at Barnes and Noble for fun.
3) We go to Comic*Con.  Every year.
4) We go to book signings.
5) I saw Fellowship of the Ring in the theatre 11 times.  I can recite the whole movie.
6) I own the theatrical versions of LotR as well as the extended versions.
7) I own all the LotR soundtracks.
8) I own LotR toys (mostly Aragorn models and a few Arwen, including the Arwen/Aragorn Barbie and Ken collectors set.  Yep)
9) I collect comics.
10) I have the whole set of original Pokemon cards, including holographics.
11) My favorite place to go is Disneyland.
12) I have written canon fanfiction on LotR and the X-Files
13) I have seen LotR, Chronicles of Narnia and the Harry Potter movies at midnight

14) I'm very much into drawing Fanart.
15) I collect not only comics, but books.
16) I signed up here at Triad 4 years ago.  ;)
17) I have gone to meet: Viggo Mortensen, Mark Hamill, Chris Carter, Frank Spotnitz, Anne McCaffrey, Todd McCaffrey, Peter S. Beagle, Kelley Armstrong, Laurell K. Hamilton, Naomi Novik, Carrie Vaughn, Todd Lockwood, Rowena, Kinuko Craft, Daniel Dos Santos, Mary Engelbreit, (and if all goes well, I'll be meeting Patricia Briggs in February! )
18) My Christmas vacation reading will be re-reading Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles...in fact, most of my favorite books are SciFi/Paranormal/Fantasy, surprise surprise.
19) I have written a letter to Anne Bishop and enclosed two drawings of her characters, and got a note back with a signed book.  If that's not nerdy, I don't know what else is  O:)

But you know what?  Nerds have the most fun....

I'm not going to make a list, but my friends and I are constantly, CONSTANTLY quoting Doctor Who. We threw my friend Charles a Doctor Who birthday party. We made chocolate Daleks. :D

1.  I listen to audiobooks when Im driving long distances.... on my laptop.   (complete with power inverter and speakers)
2.  I can not only quote the entire LoTR movies, I can recite most of the books.  Verbatim.
3.  My first "challenging" book was the Simarillion.  I was 10.
4.  I own all 79 episodes of the Original Star Trek..... but on VHS. And I watch them!
5. I still say "golly".
6. I used to do algebra problems for fun.  And I had friends who could understand why!
7. My favorite place in the world is a half price bookstore.
8. If I walk by something that is or has Tigger, I squeal .. and must buy it.  
9. I've had Disney movie parties for my birthday (in my 30s).
10.  The first thing I ever became a fan of on Facebook was the new Star Trek movie.  Then Moira Rogers LOL
11.  At Christmas, I purposefully spend several evenings finding the best lights anywhere around me, and force my family and friends to go with me.  
12.  I roleplayed on AOL 1.0.  
13.  About twice a year, I diligently look for a live table top RP group, but haven't really found one I like yet.
14.  I have played several Toreador vampires.  Who hasn't?  
15.  I get sidetracked by the D&D section at the bookstore, even though I don't actively play.  Those monsters are COOL.

And perhaps the nerdiest thing...
16.  I own a pokedex.
