Is it just me?

Or do things seem to happen on the weekend when places are closed?

My son has a fever, is shivering as he has chills and is very listless.  Of course, the doctor's office closed at 12.  Kurt had the day off and I left around 8 and didn't return until 1.  So, of course, weekend hours...Kurt's taken him to the urgent care (two weeks ago it was the emergency room for a dislocated elbow).

LAST week, Kat was sick over the weekend.

Do things like this happen to you on days when the people you need to see or places you need to go are closed?

It's not the same when you're retired.  You completely lose track of weekends and the importance working people place on them.  So, nothing happens on weekends for us, because we're only vaguely aware that there is such a thing.

Thing is, it's not just necessarily doctors.  For instance, I was working on a quilt and realised I needed to get some more fabric.  The only shop that carried the fabric I needed is closed on Sundays and Mondays.  So when did I run out of Fabric?  On a Monday, of course.  It just seems like my timing is always bad.  I was just wondering I'm the only one this happens to. :}

Oh man, it happens to me all the time here!  Hardly anything is open late.  Even ATMs are closed by 7:00, so if its 7:30, I'm going out with friends and I look in my wallet and see I only have $10 on me, I'll be borrowing money off someone.  (That's also why Japanese people tend to carry hundreds of dollars with them all the time).  A lot of my favorite restaurants are closed one day a week, and it always happens to be the day I want to go.  I remember I need something from the store at 9:30 and the store closed at 9:00...
