I do that -- though I leave the NZ/Aussie "mistakes" intact.
My problems occur when you decide to edit your previous works.

How many mistakes have you caught from me Vix?

Basically, I have my spellcheck running and unless it's a British version, I correct.

Sometimes I tell people that I've corrected, sometimes not. In some cases it's to their benefit: for example, someone like Paula who knows English as a third (isn't it? or only second?) language, I usually explain, particularly if it's some idiom that's not easily translatable or a mistake that has occurred several times.

They are, of course, not mistakes at all!

Which I do, all the time.  I shall have to remember to tell you so that I don't have to do the same amendments a dozen times.

I don't correct anybody's mistakes - mainly because I'm never quite sure which are mistakes, and which are from the differences in spelling and usage!
