I had rather interresting weekend:
- On thusday evening, my daughter keeps us wake late because of ear pain.
- On friday morning, her left ear is oozing. Got to take her to the doctor's to get antibiotics. Bought new shoes on same trip.
- Saturday, so hot that we walk to the nearby lake to swim. I can't remember last time I've done that before mid summer! The water was warm but full of tree-pollen.  I also got new newphew on saturday evening, but the hospital they are have noro-virus epidemy, so we can't visit.
- Sunday we celebrated my daughter's third birthday. (Officially she will be three today, fourteen oh something.) Half of the quest couldn't come. My 87 years old grandmother had forgotten to get a present for her. Her best gift: Fairy-wings, tiara and magic wand with blinking light. My son left with my mother. He'll be there for next two weeks ( except weekend), because schools have 2,5 months of vacation and we only had four. (daughter's kindergarden is open almost whole summer).

edited later:
- and I completely forgot the egg-episode: We were baking for the birthday and my son broke an egg all over the kitchen carpet (instead of the dought). I ended up washing the whole *** carpet, 'cause you just couln't wipe the egg yolk off.

My weekend was nowhere near as exciting:

Friday -- my flatmate was taking her kids (ages 12, 18, & 20) to an amusement park, invited me to go but instead I sent them off in my car (hers had brake problems) and stayed home writing cover letters and printing out resumes and prepared a stack for snail mail and sent several by email (a productive day but boring)

Saturday -- quick run to post office to mail job applications then to grocery store for picnic foods, home to make pasta salad (whole wheat with organic ingredients for my veggie/environmentally-conscious friends), set stove on fire when I turned on wrong burner and still had cover on that one, finished making salad and went to party (round-about way -- only 5 miles from here but in picking up those accompanying and caravaning to middle of nowhere traveled much further) where we ate and talked and sang and listened to live music until late into the evening

Sunday -- had planned to attend the Billtown Blues Festival but my friends were all worn-out and it seemed far too much effort to drive that far and stay in the middle of a field that long, no matter how good the music. Instead, hung around house until about 11 a.m., dragged kid from bed and forced her to accompany us to friend's house for the next 7 hours: she originally planned to stay in the car all day, resenting that we had dragged her there, but eventually joined us for swimming and grilled chicken (also leftover pasta salad, homemade hummus and veggies, and other goodies) -- with soft-serve ice cream on the way home.

I know -- it's a tough life, but someone's got to do it.

Wow, you guys had busy weekends! I just had my hair done and spent 3 hours at the salon getting my hair highlighted and styled.  It's definitely different now and I love it! Saturday night hte hubby and I stayed at home and relaxed and watched movies.  Sunday we slept late then went swimming in the afternoon.  Sunday evening I worked on a transcript for work that I couldn't get done at work (no effing time), so I brought home over the weekend.  I made it to page 30 before I had to give up b/c my fingers were number.  It's an hour long interview my attorney did and it's BORING> LOL BBUUUTTT Next week the hubby and I have taken the WHOLE WEEK off, so I'm excited about that.  We're going to SAn Diego, Cailforonia SAturday to Tuesday, then back to Tucson where we spend the rest of the vacation getting our house in order.  I'm so excited!!!
