Two questions, actually.

First, what is the range of a dragon's telepathy? I seem to recall in one of the books -can't remember which one and I have a cat on my lap so I don't want to go check -that at least the queens could communicate across the continents. Is that so in Triad?

Two, what exactly would go in a rider's record? Just punishments and recommendations for advancement? Or would opinions, personal information, etc. make it in there? I'm wondering because R'syl had transferred to Telgar because of his son's actions. Would his son be mentioned in R'syl's file? Or since he wasn't the one that did the murder, would R'syl's file be free of that reference?

I think we have posted in the past about dragons communicating across great distances.  Between the Weyrs would be no problem.  Or are you thinking further than that?

As far as his record, I think that would be up to you.  You could go either way.  If it was something that he needed to seek counciling for, or take time off for, I'd say it would be in there.  If it effected his performance at all, there might be a mention.  Would you like it to be in there or not?  I'd think that usually there would be at least some mention, but you could find a way to explain its not being in there as well...
