A lot of chicken farmers who mass-produce chickens feed chicken to chickens to bulk up the chickens and make their shells stronger or something.

Great!  More incentive to not get into that field.  Thanks Anwen!  I hope that's not ALL you study because I REALLY wanted to be a vet.  But man that's ing and I don't really eat meat as it is.  Are you TRYING to push me over the edge in vegetarianism, because its working!

My brother tried grossing me out about eating McDonalds chicken McNuggets one time by telling me that the substandard, inbred chickens they use for the McNuggets are full of cancerous tumors and that they don't even bother cutting them out, they just grind em up and use em in the nuggets.

My response was "Mmmm... they're some tasty tumors then!"

Takes a LOT to gross me out.

Sorry, just to most of the world the most relevant info animal science can provide is about all the gross diseases you can get...

But then there is also learning all sorts of cool stuff about animals... like that the only difference between a kangaroo and a wallaby is their size (kangaroos are bigger), that cats and dogs can both have litters with multiple fathers, that pigs are the smartest farm animal and that donkeys can be trained to protect sheep against dog attacks.

In short... don't get scared away! It really is a very fun major...

(although, I will refrain from telling you my recent vet horror stories that come from real life, not class!)

Oh I don't mind the horror stories. I could cut up an animal anyday. But the gross stuff about what people DO to animals s me.

Ok.... So cutting up animals isn't bad but every OTHER thing people to to animals is bad....  Patrick is officially on my watch list...   :evil3:
