A friend in need

Through the kindly offices of your's truly, a friend of met has met a female-type person, and has popped THE Question.

He has been told that on his next trip to where her family lives, the women in the family (all of whom have met him) want to have a roast, a meet and greet.

He and I feel the better term would be Inquistion.

So, to help ease his mind, I am turning to you ladies.  After all, I introduced him to his lady-love.  And I gotta tell ya, he is one nervous dude.

If you were her family, what would YOU ask?

Well of course when's the date and when are you guys going to start having kids are pretty much a given...

I think Eimi pretty much summed it up.  But also, they'll want to sum him up for themselves, and get the old female intuition out about whether he is:

sane/insane
good stuff/bad stuff
worthy/not worthy
likeable/not likeable
fake/real

Pretty much what all people do when they first meet someone new, and also to make sure he is 'one of them'.

Not so much an inquisition as a fact finding mission.

Unfortunately for Melanie, none of the bf's she's brought home in recent years have passed.  They have all had issues, and been more PMS-y than any woman I have ever come across!!!

Since they've already met him, I'm assuming they've gotten the usual how-did-you-meet and what-do-you-dos and what-religion/political party-are-you out of the way.

That pretty much leaves what Eimi and Kaysea said, possibly with these additions:

Where do you plan to live
Plans for the honeymoon
Will both continue working
What will his family be doing about the wedding

At least, that about covers what my family would be asking. Mostly the stuff falls under instinctive evaluations, like Kaysea suggested. Basically, stuff he has no control over. His best bet is to relax and be polite. After all, they're his family too now!
