Okay, I was going through some stuff at my parents house, and we came across some old things that belonged to my late Grandfather.

Among them were some old US military badges from a unit he was attached to based in the UK during World War Two.  All we know is that Grandpa referred to them as a 'Yank' Unit (forgive me for that Bree, it's his words not mine).

The badge is a shield a dark green on the left, red on the right with five white five pointed stars forming a cross on it. Anyone know anything about military insignia?

Avery

Hmm. I have family who's Air Force and Army, and I'm on a college with an Army ROTC. I'll go look around for some info for you! Also, is it at all possible you can provide a picture?
they/them/theirs! My Personas

I'll take a picture tomorrow - I'm not going to scan it as I don't think it'll come out well, and might damage it.

Not a clue.  But I could go looking through my grandpa's stuff and see what he had.  He was a fighter pilot in WWII.

Just a clue... I know a lot of Marine patches from WWII had five stars on them... I don't know if that would help... Where was this at, Emma?  Was there a specific town name you can give us?

emma

I can't give a name to the town, all I know is that it was North West England, and on the coast, possibly somewhere with anti aircraft guns protecting shipping and ship yards.

I suppose that it is possible that there were US units passing through the base.
