Pictures in the Gallery

So you want to put up a picture in the gallery on the triad site.  Well that can be done and as you may have seen, the picture can be linked to your Persona.  The FAQ's for this are as follows:

If you have a picture you'd like to add to the website, just send an email to mailto:webmonkey@triadweyrs.org">webmonkey@triadweyrs.org with the picture attached. The webbies (and if necessary, the Council) will make a decision as to whether it is appropriate for our site and if so, add it to the Gallery.

If you can, please try and resize your picture and save it in a compressed format (such as JPEG) before sending it so it is a reasonably sized file (less than 500KB is good). If you have any questions about picture formats, email the webbies and ask.

Additionally, (and we may add this information to the FAQ) there are some other guidelines for what will be posted.

• Pictures can be original art work created by you.
• Pictures may not be unaltered photographs
• Drawings like those of celebrities on Deviantart.com must either be your own work or used by permission of the original artist with a link provided to their deviantart account.
• Photographs of Celebrities may be used if they are altered to look like drawings or paintings (see #2).  Please try NOT to use the same celebrity someone else has claimed for their Persona.

When you submit the artwork you must also provide the following:

• Name/Rank of subject persona
• Name of photographer or artist of original work (or Unknown if you can't find the information) and the subject of the photo (i.e. the name of the person.)
• Name of person who performed deviation of the original work (if any)

I've been receiving more and more requests for deviations and as I'm sure you know these take some time to accomplish therefore I'm making the following request.

**If you wish to have Suzee (me) do a deviation of the celebrity you have chosen (from this point forward) there will be a charge of 25 marks from your account to hers upon completion of the work and posting of the approved finished product on Triad.

Some additional information for how you may be able to easily (and with free tools) create your own artwork for Triad's site.

Look for a picture you'd like to use as the basis for your persona and find a big one.

• Copy and Paste it into Microsoft Paint (this is on all Windows Operating systems.) Here you can crop it to the right size or enlarge it if necessary.  You should make the original photo about 800 pixels wide.
• Down load Fotosketcher. (Freeware to make pictures look like drawings or paintings.) A small picture DOES NOT work as well as a Large picture. Dowload here: http://fotosketcher.com/
• Now Copy and paste your photo from Paint into Fotosketcher and play with the controls until you like your results.
• Now SAVE a copy of the photo with the name of your persona. It should be about 800 Pixels wide.
• Copy and Paste your Fotosketcher art back into MS Paint and RESIZE it to 300 Pixels wide. Then save another copy this time with the same name but "_small" added to the name.
• The last thing you need to do is create a thumbnail from your picture. This picture must be SQUARE and only 100 Pixels wide. Save this one with the same name as your main picture but with "_thumb" on the end.
• Finally, send all three of these to the Webbies along with the information required above and we will review and get it up onto the site then attach to your Persona.
