I promise I'm not hounding you! :) But first of all, my name's Hester. Hi. Scary that there's also a Heather -- usually, people with names even close to Hester (and yes, my mother did name me after the Scarlet Letter) aren't around. Hopefully there won't be any confusion.

Anyway. Lame questions:
#1. I applied for adoptable S'ranel, and expected to be waiting a while for a response for that one ... I'm just curious why I subscribed to the list and am not getting any listmail, for most other BigBigPBeMs I join like this one there's an instantaneous onslaught of it.

#2. Weyrwoman Second: I figure this is a goldrider position, and a very-very-very green person like myself wouldn't really be entirely welcomed to apply for it (at Dragonsfall), but I'm curious how one does do such a thing -- just send a conclave email requesting to enter a writing sample? I might even be daring enough to do this. Maybe. Once out of mentorship. Or something.

#3. Link exchanges: do you often do them with other Pern PBeM games, especially ones set in remotely the same timeline? Not exactly a shared timeline game, but one that just happens to be set in the post-10th Pass Interval with failed AIVAS.

And I know there was another one. That I don't remember.

Thanks. :D

Welcome, Hester!  It can sometimes take up to a week to hear back on a persona...even an adoption.  We all do this as a hobby and sometimes RL seems to rear it's ugly head, darn it!  LOL

As for the goldrider, that used to be determined by club vote and the conclave will be discussing this issue at a later date.  Yes, the Weyrwoman Second is a gold rider, and it can't go to any member who isn't out of mentorship.  Who gets any goldrider will be determined at a later date.  Right now, no goldrider positions are even open.

And, yes, we do exchange links with other clubs.  Check out our links page for more information!

I hope this answers your questions...if you have any more, don't hesitate to ask!

Yes, thank you, helps very much indeed! Unless I retire from my position in another club I myself wouldn't be eligible for a gold, but I am thinking of retiring and the issue of whether WW2 was a gold-only position or not was playing on my brain. (I know some clubs allow blue and greenriders as Weyrsecond, so. Curiosity.)
