I have read almost all the pern books but that was almost a year ago, i would love to join your club but i was wondering if I should re-read the books first? What do you think??

Heck, Matty, you've already "joined", by becoming a lurker! Most of us started that way...

Read all the posts as they come, look over the personas up for adoption, and before you know it, you'll plunge right into the madhouse!

Welcome aboard, in any case!

Why hello!  I think you'll find that it's easy to get into the swing of things on our Pern... much of the books will probably come back to you, keeping in mind that our canon is kept fairly close to the books'.  The Dragonlover's Guide to
Pern is a great book to reference, and there are many websites out there that tell you what does/doesn't exist on Pern... I don't see much reason to go back and read all of the books, in other words!

Of course, we're always around here to answer questions, too. :-)

And if we don't know an answer, then we'll figure it out for you.  Come and join the madhouse properly!

I agree! I joined having not read Anne for years and years...

It's a good excuse to go back and reread them. "Well, I know I should be studying, but I HAVE to read this right now!"

Matty,

I reread the books before joining simply because I was anal and it had been at least 10 years or more since I had read them.  :)  However, we've had members who've never read the books at all, and some who it has been a while.

So, what I'm getting at, is we would love to have you just jump right in!  You will initially have a mentor who is more than willing to help you get comfortable with our Canon before you have to go off on your own!
