Gold Egg Contest 2024

As you've no doubt heard, there is a gold egg on the sands at Dragonsfall Weyr! The club will be hosting a contest for the rest of October to determine the writer of the new gold at Dragonsfall.

Submission Window: October 14th-31st
Voting Window: November 1st - November 14th

Contest Type: Anonymous
Since the contest will be anonymous, it is encouraged that members do not share with other members their entry. Let's keep this in the spirit of fun 🙂

Who can enter?:
-Any active member who is off mentorship may enter! Your persona for entry can be a current Candidate, or you can submit a new Candidate for approval to enter the contest.
-Current writers of goldriders are ineligible. See Triad's One Goldrider rule.

How do I enter?:
You will submit to me:
1) Candidate Interest Form
2) Written Entry
-Your persona's name will be replaced with an anonymous name throughout your written entry. If your entry mentions other current personas, those names will also be replaced (especially if you reference current persona family members, etc).

Voting
On November 1st, the written entries will be posted for the club to read. Then, a voting form will be shared. The membership will vote purely on the strength of the contestant's written entry.  I will not be voting in the contest since I'm gathering the entries, so the results can be as unbiased as possible 🙂

Written Entry Prompt
Write a post with your gold egg contestant that explores three milestones in their life since Impressing the gold. For example, you could write about 1) their impression, 2) their first flight, and 3) their graduation. Or you could write about their first Threadfall, or any other Weyrling milestone. The manner in which you revisit these milestones in their life is up to you. There are no specific milestones you must write about, you may choose any Weyrling training milestones to be your three, but the entry needs to really focus on your Weyrling and their dragon. We all want to see the personality of the dragon and the relationship the rider and dragon have.
