Weyrleader Contest

Hello Triadians,

As you all may have noticed, the recent posts from Chioneth's flight have placed K'reyel as the new Weyrleader at Dragonsfall Weyr.  As this means Emma is now the L1 there, she will be stepping down at River Bluff.

First I want to thank Paula for her 'turns' of service to the club at Dragonsfall. She has done a great job with the location and we can only admire her and applaud her performance. She has elected to step down as L1 and concentrate her energy on Corwal and Emerald falls. Please make every effort to support her in this decision. Thank you Paula!

But this means, Weyrleader at River Bluff Weyr is now open. Weyrleader is a Level One position. These characters have the highest activity requirements in the club, and are essential to keeping a location running and active. To fill this important and desirable spot, the Council is holding a contest for the position.


Who is eligible?

Any member who is off mentorship and is not currently on probation is eligible! The only exception is if you already have a Weyrwoman, since club rules allow a writer to have either a Weyrwoman or a Weyrleader. But not both.


How do I enter?

Please send an email to the Council telling us if you are interested in being added to the list by December 15. Along with the note, include a submission letter with any plans you have for the location if you were elected L1, including at least one idea for a location-wide plot.


How does the contest work?

In the beginning of January a ballot will be sent to the club lists so you can vote for which member you think should be given the position. Voting will end January 15.

There will be no anonymous writing contest, nor will you be choosing which bronzerider will win. It is a straight out vote for a member. It will be up to the winner if they would like to use one of their existing bronzes, or if they would like to submit a new bronzerider for the part.

The Council will combine the results of the club poll with the application essay that discusses the player's ideas and make their decision by February 1.

The winner of the position will be announced in character when Orlaith's flight post goes out in February.
