Welcome Committee Question

Hey!

When I get off of mentorship, I want to join the Welcome Committee so I can shout cheerfully at people and earn points doing it.

What will I need to do, when the time comes?

eta: Also, the advertizement thing... what's that about? Advertize where?

Umm I think I'm the active member of the welcome committee now though I know Amanda was doing it at some point...

Basically I send an email to every new member and offer coposts as well as advertise Triad/recruit members whenever and wherever I can. This can mean Anne McCaffrey Facebook groups, PBEM game listings, roleplay game listings, other Pern sites with link lists, etc etc

I also try to introduce people I write with/have written with in the past in other games to Triad if I can. Ang/Miriah/Cymiri/Jelena etc are all from other groups I play in. Oh, I also took postcards to DragonCon when I went a few years ago and put it on the Weyrfest freebie table.

I'm open to other ideas to advert if anyone's got some. Alot of it, though, is word of mouth. IE: we get a member, they enjoy the club, they tell their friends...and we get more

Oh, so only one person can be on the welcoming committee and advertize at a time?

Poo. I was hoping to earn points, and, you know, be welcoming. ;)

No there can be more than one, but you should talk to the council about it.
