Any of you UK-dwellers watched this? I've been watching on Netflix, and it's got me inspired to write Holders.

Nope, never heard of it, to be honest. But then again, if none of the characters have names like Ninky Nonk, Dei'Li, Uppsy Daisey or Macha Packa, chances are it's not on the channel I'm forced to watch by my three foot dictator.  :cyclopsani:

I thought he was going to school soon?

Looks like the second series of it should be airing over there soon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downton_Abbey

The first series is available on netflix in the US.

He's in school now...but we also have a 400-600 year old house that isn't exactly re-liming itself, so when he's in school I have to sit in awkward postions, sticking blobs of lime between the stones.  My fingers are SORE!!

I have to admit to skipping this one in favour of the big budget drama on the Beeb (ITV drama rarely does it for me except for Primeval!) I preferred Upstairs, Downstairs instead.

I think a large degree of it is that I'm an American - most of what we have on TV is reality crap. It's really interesting to see the class differences, seeing how servants act, how people think so much "less" of the "working" class than the upper class, and the general oppression of women. It's definitely inspiring me with plots!
