The next Doctor is announced today at 6pm UK time.

So, time to get speculating.  You can get good odds on Patterson Joseph being the first black Dr Who, or David Morrissey (in the Xmas special).  There are longer odds on Catherine Tate or Billie Piper ;)

We shall see, watch the BBC website later today.

Ugh, please if it is a black dr who he gets it because of his acting and not because of stunt casting!  I hate it when they do that.  I'm not from the UK so I have no idea who might be up for it.  I know Robert Carlyle was up for it, but Stargate Universe snatched him up.  It'd be pretty cool for Tate to get it since she's part dr. now.

They've gone for a complete unknown called Matt Smith.  I actually wanted Patterson Joseph to get it, he's a damn good actor - Cali, that series I said you should look at, he plays Greg in that, plus he'd been in the first series of Dr Who (Bad Wolf)
