According to one review I read, TRANSFORMERS was not all that good. It concentrated on special effects, nothing but explosions and giant alien robots. No character development.

DUDE! It is a summer action movie! It is TRANSFORMERS!

SHEESH!

There was plenty of character development for the characters that mattered. The rest were just plot devices.

Ok, I totally just got home from seeing The Simpsons Movie, and it was hilarious. I laughed so much I thought I was going to hurt myself at one point! :jg:

I treated Chenoa to a last activity before boarding school -- Simpsons' Movie. Yep, laughed most of the way through!

I got to see a preview of Stardust. A bit jerky at the beginning -you could tell they were trying to cram a lot of info in. Not unusual for movies based off books though. But about halfway through it clicked together and I really enjoyed it!

I saw a double header of Sunshine and my second viewing of Transformers on Wednesday. Transformers is still the best movie of the year and even better the second time around. Absolutely fantastic! Sunshine was pretty good too. Kind of a thinking man's Sci-Fi with a bit of horror mixed in. My husband didn't like it because of that horror element (he was hoping for a Armageddon type movie) but the cast was spot on so if anybody is a bit adventurous in their movie selections I'd recommend it.

'Stardust' is based on a novel by Neil Gaimen with the same name, and is a fairy tale about a guy who goes off in search of a fallen star for his (hopefully) girlfriend. I went to go see it on Saturday before I left, and it made me wriggle with joy! It's a love story and somewhat sappy, and a little like the 'Princess Bride' ... but it also has airships and witches and a fantabulous cast. It's fantasy done right, if I do say so myself!

I'd give it ****.

Yeah, I've heard good things about Stardust. And I like Clare Daines in almost anything

I doubt its going to come to America, although it might, but the movie I really want to see is called "Sukiyaki Western Django", and its kind of Japan's answer to Spaghetti Westerns of the past. It's set during the Gempei Wars of the 1100s but done with gunslingers and bad English. Even Quinton Tarantino is in it! (though I honestly can't stand him). I can't wait to see it! And that period is one of my favorites in Japanese history :D

While my sister was visiting we went and saw two movies, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and Hot Rod. Both of them were hilarious. If you're wanting some funny, I highly recommend them!

Recently, I saw The Invasion and Superbad at the movie theatre.

The Invasion was really cool. Very suspensful! I was totally on the edge of my seat the whole movie and at some points I actually started chewing on my thumb knuckle to keep myself from talking to the movie! :jg: Stuff like "Wake up! Wake up! What're you thinking, wake UP!" and "Get out of the car! Get your ass out of the car NOW!" :jg: And Superbad was super FUNNY! Mclovin RULES!
